Very helpful, down to earth, quick easy transaction. Very pleasant car buying experience.
This is an excellent place to buy a car. The owner showed us every car we were interested in. No pressure at all. Very professional. Thanks!
Very friendly people, but my car wasn't in the best condition. From an external viewpoint, it was gorgeous, but the first week I had it, I shutdown on me WHILE CROSSING A RED LIGHT. Cracked radiator. In the shop a week and a half. Get it back, the transmission dragged, which is not a cheap fix. Go to speak with him about it, I was told, "Cars break, it's an unfortunate thing." I understand the whole "AS IS" policy, but I have young kids to consider. Finally, after almost two months, I was able to sell it back to him, but for almost 1/2 of what I paid for it, even with the work I put into it. So he still received a profit from me, even though I didn't leave with anything in the end. Guess I wasn't rude enough to be treated fairly and receive a full refund. Just felt pushed over and I had to accept the loss. Good things don't always happen for good people, now I'm also in search for another car with less money to put forward. Not good when you have kids, school and work to consider. Just hurt by the whole situation.
I suggest anyone interested in purchasing a car from M & M excavators to be very cautious. I was beyond disappointed with the service. I’m a very fair, reasonable and respectful individual and I will give my honest experience. I came across a couple of vehicles he had for sale on Craigslist listed as “no problems at all.” A black 2008 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2009 VW CC. I saw negative reviews on this car lot, describing the owner as being very disrespectful but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Now first off, anytime I asked questions he would either sigh or give a disrespectful look. I have bought many cars and I know what questions to ask and anytime you are looking at cars you should ask AS MANY as YOU want (and not care whether they like it or not). If they don’t like answering questions it sometimes means they aren’t comfortable with what they’re selling you. I saw the CC which caught my attention. I figured I would purchase the car due to the fact I needed a car ASAP. I had the money and went back to purchase it a couple days later (on a Saturday) but the VW CC would not start. We jump started it, let it run for 5-10 mins then I turned it off for 15-20 mins and tried to start it back up and again it wouldn’t start. He guaranteed that he would have an answer by that following Monday after a mechanic looked at it. I went up there Monday, he still had not had a mechanic look at it which he never apologized for. He then said it would be by the middle of the week. I might be wrong but I honestly don’t think he even called a mechanic yet. When I asked him if he had, he hesitantly said yes. I told him “I thought you said you would have an answer by today?” He responded in frustration saying “I just told you it will be the middle week.” By the way it’s now the following week and I still haven’t heard back from him. Tried calling both contact numbers multiple times to check up with no answer. I even offered to bring it to Autozone down the street so they could test the alternator and battery he put in (which appeared to be refurbished seeing how it didn’t have any sticker on it). Most buyers would have already gone somewhere else altogether. He talked about just “taking it back to auction” where he said he could get close to what he wanted for it. I told him that’s kind of early to make that call if you haven’t even had a mechanic look at it yet. Beware of shops that juggle around cars with auctions. There’s a lot of risk in that. Often times, cars that have been rejected by large dealerships are sent to the auction. Sometimes shops can fix them correctly at a low cost but the fact that he got this car from the auction and then was selling it as is, then after finding out it wasn’t starting, talked about automatically sending it right back without even looking at it? I have to wonder what kind of inspections he’s doing on the rest of his cars that he gets from the auction. This is my honest review. I encourage everyone interested in buying a car from here to be extremely cautious. Have an experienced mechanic evaluate the car first before making any decisions. They might polish them up to make them look good (although when I first test drove the VW CC it was absolutely filthy inside) but it can have internal issues including electrical that you might not see initially but can cost you a lot of money shortly down the road. Interestingly enough, he still has the ad up and it says it was updated a day ago. Still says excellent condition and no problems at all. The fact he knew I had an attorney involved with my case from my recent accident, perhaps caused him not to attempt to go through with the sale. I just purchased another vehicle from somewhere else, 5x nicer and only $200 more from a reliable source. I would give this review on M&M excavators zero stars if I could.
I drove from Lafayette to look at a Ford truck. I came in and they let me test drive it right away. It drove great! I bought it and I love it. Couldn't believe the price. Highly recommend them.
