We turned down the $200, as it was nothing more than an insult. In my opinion, they should have offered a full refund since we paid for a climate controlled service which we did not receive. Central Storage turned out to be a costly mistake for us.
When we arrived with the movers to pick up, we found that the unit had leaked and ruined much of our furniture, antiques and personal belongings. We contacted the manager to show her the damages. A few days later, she called to inform us that after speaking with the owners they would give us $200 for our trouble. I requested that the owners call me, but the manager said they would not do that. I then asked her for the owners number and was told she was not allowed to give it out.
After selling our home, we rented a climate controlled storage unit from Central Storage at 12526 Hooper Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70818. We had the unit from mid October 2015 until mid February 2016 at a rate of $180 a month.
Mice Infestation! Do not rent from here. A week after we moved our stuff there I started to notice rodent feces. I brought it to the attention of the owner who said it isn't a big deal, it happens whenever they cut the field next door. She discouragingly offered to put down poison, but said all that will do is make the units stink. About 2 months later we moved into our new house. Before moving the stuff in, I decided to gauge the problem by putting down glue traps. Within 24 hours 3 of the 4 had captured their mark. As we began to move stuff, we were seeing mice scurry everytime we picked up a box or moved furniture. I refuse to move mice into my new home, I feel like our stuff was destroyed as we paid 90 a months for an in door climate controlled storage unit. Do not do business here.
