My daughter has been obsessed with Louisiana history so I took her here and she loved it. Our guide was extremely nice and was patient as my daughter asked 3,000 questions!
The architectural elements were wonderful, of course. We parked a bit of a distance away and walked the rest.
This was a great little family outing. My family and I had frequently passed by this Old State Capitol, we always wanted to go in. The only drawback was while we were inside, some of the workers, know all of the workers, did not say a single word. I think I think that everybody lived there and they acted like it. The only thing is I think they were dressed in regular clothes not in long gowns and tuxedos, point being just say hello to people. Other than that, this was a great historical learning.
We stopped a pair of ladies to ask a question and they were so friendly and eager to share their knowledge.
Definitely a place we'd like to go back to.
Researching and re- discovering the amazing architecture and history of iur old state capitol. This building is amazing. If you have never been or outs been a while I recommend taking time to discover its history.
The "movie" is fantastic! We weren't really interested, but the lady persisted. It ended up being one of our favorite things of our trip.
The exhibits throughout were interesting to the whole family (my kids were ages 6-11 at the time). We did not plan for enough time here, however, so we did leave without enjoying everything there was to see.
The multimedia show of history of the building was impressive. Very well done. Wish the King Arthur hall in Tintagel, Cornwall could do it similarly well.
