Very unprofessional!! I brought my dog on a Wednesday night, he was tested for all of the wrong diseases and sent home. I then returned the following night do to no improvement in my dog. After I suggested, numerous times, that they test my dog for parvo they finally did. Once the test came back positive they then tried to send a hydration kit home with me to hydrate my dog myself. I am not a veterinarian, that is why I came to this veterinarian clinic. And those familiar about parvo, it is a very time sensitive illness. Needless to say my adorable dog is fine, no thanks to these veterinarians. Between the comments about being able to afford the care needed for my dog and the misdiagnoses that could have ended my dogs life, I would not recommend their services to anyone!!! Not to mention, for what I did pay for the two visits to this clinic and one night of treatment, I would expect more quality of service and compassion from the staff.
Unfortunately, the our sweet cat ultimately needed to be put down after we received the results from her biopsies. It certainly was not the outcome we'd hoped for, but the LSU team always made us feel like she was their first priority patient. They were exceedingly kind and patient with her and with us, and gave us all the information about her illness that they could find out.
There is a BIG reason that these "reviews" for LSU small animal clinic are only a year old when LSU small animal clinic is decades old. The worst part is the positive reviews are not connected to an actual Gmail account person..... Fake accounts, click on the 2 without picks, staff creates accounts to fake good reviews, sad this is what it turned into..... Have been bringing my special needs Albino German Shepherd for over 10 years. Not sure what happened to their professionalism or the giant beating heart of what used to be this facility. My dog was turned away from the ICU against the clinicians orders from just 2 hours earlier and nearly died as he had to wait at home for shift change to wait a full 15 hours at home dying until his clinician came back in for work/school the next day, my animal was admitted and stayed in ICU for 3 days. Thats not even the start, but it is going to go through the legal system now. My best advice is record EVERYTHING including visits and phone calls. Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. Thank the Lord my company records everything else I would be at the whim of a very aggressive and poorly poorly trained office manager James German.
When we put her to sleep, we were able to hold her as they administered the drugs in a room specifically set up to be comfortable for and comforting to grieving families. We were able to take her home to be buried in a cat coffin and given a clay imprint of her pawprint as something to remember her by.
The professionals at LSU small animal clinic have helped with our family pets for nearly two decades. Caring, sensitive to clients and their companion animals. Thank you.
They gave us the answers no one else could give us which allowed us to make the decision to end her suffering because we finally knew there was nothing more we could do for her. They gave us peace of mind and I forever be grateful to them for that.
The service and the compassion was unparalleled. We will be transferring our remaining cat to the LSU primary veterinary care providers, and any new cat we bring into our family will go here as well.
Very caring and knowledgeable staff!!! Worth the hour and 30 min drive from new Iberia!
Bring your pet to the LSU vet school and small animal clinic if you want them to have the best care out there.
A few weeks ago, we took our extremely sick cat (her most obvious symptoms showing on her skin) to see their veterinary team specializing in dermatology after our primary veterinarian could do nothing more for her. Their team took extra care examining her, and outlined three plans that could help us identify and hopefully treat the problem. Once we chose a plan of action they biopsied her and did full lab work-ups.
