The food was good. A little crowded for my taste. I guess that's an indicator of how good the place was.
It was a great meal and a great time. Our server, Marcus, was without question the best server I have ever had and because of his service, I will be coming back to saltgrass as often as I can. The food was wonderfully cooked and each steak we purchased was cooking exactly as we ordered, which is often something that I have not experienced elsewhere. I highly recommend this place and the server Marcus for any and all visits you may have in the future.
Our friends took us out to eat at Saltgrass for my husband's birthday. What a mistake!! They had been to the Saltgrass in Houston, and thought it was wonderful. That is not the case with the Baton Rouge one. The service is poor, and the food was cold!! It took about 30 minutes to get our drinks, and after being there for 2 hours, we finally got our food. It was cold!! The manager did offer us a free bread pudding in reparation. Yuck!! We were told when the bill came, they took off the cost of the appetizers. We appreciated that, but since we were getting them at Happy Hour prices, that wasn't really a huge deal. There are too many other good restaurants to return to this one.
I have been 3 times. The first time I didn't like the barbecue bacon wrapped shrimp so they brought me some plain shrimp that was kind of dry. The second time I got the red snapper with shrimp and really loved it! And the young lady server was wonderful too! Their butterfly fried shrimp is just Amazing! The best I have ever had! They have great ribs and steaks. The third time we went the server forgot to bring our salad with our meal. We asked the food runner about it after he brought our meals. But he forgot too. It wouldn't be a big deal to some people but my husband Really loves salad. I also had to get up from the table and ask for appetizer plates. And it wasn't that busy this past Sunday after church. Got better service on the busier Saturday nights.
Nice atmosphere to relax after work! Cleanliness is very important and it meets all standards. The customer service gets a 10 out of 10!!! They make sure you have everything you need. I sampled my husband's porter house steak.....that grill master knows what he is doing! You won't be disappointed! Shout out to Danielle....thank you for the fantastic service!
