After I complained about the poor customer service & defective products, the customer service rep, I was speaking with on the phone sounded like he could not care less. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PIECE OF FURNITURE FROM ROOMS TO GO AGAIN! I wish I could give them zero stars.
I will never use Rooms to go for furniture again. We bought over $5000.00 dollars worth of furniture less than a year ago from the Baton Rouge location. Both of the beds we bought are broke. My sons mattress is supported by a less than .5 inch piece of particle board. One section of it broke and the mattress has fallen in. My daughters trundle bed mattress is supported by metal tubes welded to a frame. According to the rooms to go rep, all of the damage was caused by excessive abuse by the owner. The dang tubes on my daughters bed are welded to the frame. No way in hell that she could have broken them. Calling customer service did no good. All they do is say "even with the warranty, we wont cover the damage because it was caused by the owner". When i asked for a manager, i was told that i would have to wait 48 hours for one to call me back.
Walked around store more than three times. Passed by at least four staff members. Neither staff members provided customer service. At that time, I figured that was their way of handling customers. But prior to me leaving another customer entered store and was greeted and staff member was providing customer service. I guess I didn't look like I wanted to make a purchase. Well they were wrong. I made a purchase at another store that acknowledged me.
This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had. My furniture never got delivered. The first attempt the delivery driver broke my furniture. And didn’t even attempt to deliver so they wouldn’t have to refund me my delivery fee. I waited a week for an “expedited” delivery in which the new delivery driver blatantly lied and said he attempted delivery. Stated that he “called and knocked” never happened. Customer service for this company does not care about you at all. The reply to a bad reviews is automated. They will do nothing to help you. They’re condolences are mediocre at best. Completely ruined my holiday for a piece of furniture I never reached my doorstep. The refund process is just as callous and careless as delivery. There are few places to find nice furniture in this city but this would be a horrible place to go. You will spend and exponential amount of money to be spit on after they swipe your card. The customer service department shouldn’t even exist because there is zero service. My patience was tried and I ultimately ended up with nothing but a tearful experience.
Prior to the flood of Aug, 2016, I had purchased furniture with this company & had no complaints. However, since losing all of my furniture after Aug, 2016 due to the flood, I refurnished my whole house with Rooms To Go. Unfortunately, this time around, it has been a totally different experiences! The overall quality of the furniture has decreased & despite the fact that I purchased an extended warranty, they do NOT stand behind their products. Most of the defective items, they would not repair or replace, stating it was not covered by the warranty that I had purchased & the one item that they did agree to repair, I never heard anything from them for almost 2 months after their representative came out to inspect the defective piece of furniture. This, despite the fact that he assured me that I would be hearing from someone in a few days. The replacement part for the furniture just showed up at my door after being delivered by UPS almost 2 months later. I had to call the store & go through the whole story again in order to schedule another appt to have someone come out 2 weeks later to replace this defective part.
There’s only one main reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars and that’s because of the employee. No, I didn’t forget the s, just one singular employee. My husband and I wanted to get a new bedroom set so we looked here first. The employee that met us at the door was really nice but we just wanted to look on our own for a minute so he said to come back and get him whenever we were ready. About two minutes later another employee approached us asking if we need help. We told her we already spoke to the guy at the door, thank you though. She then proceeded to follow us around, pressuring us to buy the most expensive sets. After telling her 3 times what our price range was she became slightly hostile and pretty much told us we can’t afford anything unless it was from the bargain room (not true at all). After that we decided to leave. The minute she turned her back to us we literally ran out of the store, never to return again. And that’s why we are still sitting on a futon from Walmart. The End
