Don’t spend your money here. I’m student visiting Baton Rouge while on break. I go to school in Lafayette. They wouldn’t let me get a week guest past to try this facility out because I personally don’t live here. Even though I explained that my family does. Little did he know, I graduate in May and am moving back to Baton Rouge. He lost a potential member for being small minded. I’ll always steer people clear from this place. The outside of the building looks rundown, and the management is weak. Go elsewhere to workout. There are a lot better options.
Love working out at this gym. Feel very safe when I go there by myself. Safety is very important to me as a woman who sometimes goes after work and leaves as it's getting dark outside. Talked my husband into joining with me. He loves it as much as I do. Hours are convenient and facility is very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would recommend this gym to anyone looking for a workout facility.
They say they have the largest free weight section in baton rouge but that is not true. The billboards say $20 a month and 10,000 square feet. Both of those are a lie. The gym is 4,000 square feet max. Good luck trying to cancel. I've used their club system and to cancel a membership takes literally 5 minutes. They make you send a form by certified mail to Georgia but good luck canceling. Do yourself a favor and get a burner card so if you ever have to cancel you can just cancel the card, it will save you a lot of time and headaches
The absolute worst experience at a gym in my life. I would NEVER RECOMMEND doing business with this location to ANYONE. I've worked out for 12 years of my life, 5 days a week, and have never come across worse customer service by owners in my life. I worked out at Max Fitness for over 2 years, brought in countless business, and recommendations. I even won contest for the business I brought in. My wife and I moved across town and sought a different gym due to convenience. I went to cancel at Max with only 4 month left, filled out the paperwork, and did everything their website says is needed for cancel. Never heard anything. I contacted the gym 5 separate times, left multiple messages, even spoke with the owner, John Goodwin, personally who said he would contact me, and never heard from ANYONE. They went ahead charged me for the next month without even saying anything and would have charged me the following month without ever contacting me. A whole month passed and no one EVER sent me so much as an email. Eventually, I ended up paying out the rest of my contract to never have to deal with these people again. Learn from my experience and NEVER DEAL BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. It's overly priced and incredibly crowded. Look elsewhere.
I love this place. What I love about it more it's that it's not a gossip, meat market type of health club. People that come here come here to workout. You don't see people standing around talking, they're serious, get it done & get out type. Just want to add that Stanley is by far the most personable & friendliest employee there. Of course John & Christy are nice too.
