Excellent bean dip and good salsa comes with chips when your seated. Very attentive service, my drink was always full or being refilled, but they could have noticed my wife's drink went low toward the end. We found our food to be better than average for a Baton Rouge area Mexican restaurant.
Well the only thing we ordered was fajitas, everything that we ordered was absolutely delicious. The salsa and bean dip that came with a complimentary chips or some of the best I've ever eaten at a Mexican restaurant. As far as the service goes, we had excellent service by our server and the food came out in a timely manner. El Paso is definitely one of the better Mexican restaurants in Baton Rouge.
Not the best in town, but very good, and I'll be going back if I'm in the area with a craving for Mexican. The salsa actually may be THE best I've ever had. We were there during happy hour and split the 2 for 1 margaritas on a Thursday evening. Had a guy doing live music that was definitely tip-worthy, and that was nice. Everyone enjoyed the entrées, and nobody left much on the plate.
If your really hungry, you might try the #33 (El Paso), which includes several items.
One of my favorite places to grab a bite. Can't beat lunch as the prices are super cheap. Plates are always full and you never leave hungry. The bean dip is absolutely addictive. I have tried many things on the menu and have never been disappointed.
Outdoor area was nice. Server was pleasant but she was the only one covering the Patio so was not attentive at all. Only one round of drinks and sweet tea was never refilled. The bean dip had been recommended by people at work, but the restaurant was out of the dip. The queso was runny and had no tomatoes nor scallions as I would expect. The taco and enchiladas were bland. I had been told the restaurant was awesome and I came away with feeling let down by all but the great patio space.
